A great kickoff to the 2010 Good Life photo contest

Winning the Gregory Drift with 90 votes, Ayelet Niv’s photo, shot on the Israeli National Trail with her Gregory Electra, places first in January’s Good Life photo contest.

The winning snapshot resulted from a few too many minutes of shut-eye, one too many granola bars and, unfortunately, a hike down a crater in the dark. Ayelet Niv and her fellow backpackers ended up a little behind on their trek from the Red Sea to the Syrian/Lebanese border due to a extended lunch and nap break, which forced them to finish their long trek in the dark. Thankfully they completed the journey safely despite the minor setback and Ayelet was able to share this amazing photo with the Good Life community.

If you think you have the next Good Life photo winner, post it on our website for the chance to win a Muir 24 or Imlay daypacks shown below.

How to: Using the ski/board attachment points on the Targhee and Drift packs

It’s about that time, as those of us who live in more northern climes are well aware, for the blower to turn on. People are already hiking for turns in the Wasatch and elsewhere, albeit with caution mode on (hopefully). Those rocks aren’t too deep yet …Are you riding your tails or just happy to see me?

Which makes it good timing for a little Gregory gear school, heading into ski season.  One of the beauties of Gregory’s award-winning Targhee and Drift ski and snowboard packs is that they carry skis and boards in a few different ways for different situations. However, because there’s a few options for attaching your snow toys, it’s also useful to have primer on the finer details.

Read on for some beta on how all this works. Continue reading >>

It’s Drift day here at Gregory

More props for the Gregory Drift, this time from the folks over at UtahSkier.net:

“The bottom line:  The Gregory Drift is one of the best daypacks we’ve ever tested.  Easier access to gear stowed at the bottom of the pack would be nice, but that’s the only shortcoming we can come up with.

We’ll take that. They do know a thing or two about skiing over in Utah. And just to address that latter point, this isn’t the first time we’ve had that bit of feedback on access to the very bottom of the main compartment, pretty much the only negative comment we’ve had on the design, so, based on that, look for the Drift’s zipper on this coming fall’s version to extend all the way down one side of pack. That, and new colors as well.

We do listen to your feedback … so keep it coming.
